Environmental management systems

The international standard ISO 14001 and the EU EMAS regulation are tools developed to make more functional and efficient the management of environmental aspects, both, in the private and in the public sector.

The two regulations have a complementary logic, that allows their realisation in consecutive phases.

ISO 14001, focused on the optimisation of the internal and operational aspects of the organisation, as for example, the waste, energy and emission management, is able to guarantee an economic return and an improvement of the environmental performances.

The EMAS regulation represents the opportunity to valorize the results obtained with the application of ISO 14001, through the elaboration of an Environmental Declaration. It is an essential document to communicate the reached objectives to the public and permits the insertion of the organisations in an European register as an official recognition of the adhesion to the sustainability politics of the UE.

Thanks to the wealth of experience developed in different sectors, geographical areas and organisational structures, Aequilibria is able to deliver a complete consultancy service, to propose personalized solutions for the management of operational and organizational aspects and to combine the economic return with the improvement of the environmental performances.

Among personalised solutions, the gap analysis is surely a tool that can effectively identify the shortcomings of the organisation’s current EMS, in relation to the requirements of the new UNI EN ISO 14001:2015. The results of this service is the preparation of an EMS adjustment plan, so that the organisation has the possibility to define the interventions required to fully adapt the EMS by assessing in detail the time commitment and resources.
