Draft CWA “Mapping of the mandatory and voluntary Carbon Management framework in the EU” is available for public review and commenting

On November 6, CEN launched the public consultation on the draft CEN Workshop Agreement “Mapping of the mandatory and voluntary Carbon Management framework in the EU”, proposed by Aequilibria.

The aim is to develop a document that summarizes in a clear and complete way the voluntary and legislative (mandatory) frameworks on carbon management applicable at European level, in order to maximize the effectiveness of GHG mitigation actions and facilitate adaptation to climate change, objectives that are among those set by the European Commission for the next coming years.

The CEN Workshops (CEN / WS) are working groups open to organizations, European or international, interested in defining particularly innovative reference documents, the CEN Workshop Agreements (CWA).
Developed on the basis of consensus, the CWAs remain in force for three years, at the end of which it can be decided to extend their validity for another three years, modify and re-publish as a new document, withdraw or, conversely, transform into a proposal of new European or international regulatory activity.

Comments can be submitted to the Workshop Secretariat, by January 5 2021.
