The new ISO 17029 and the accreditation of the verification and validation activities: what will change in the environmental field with the future ISO 14065

The recent publication of ISO 17029 and the revision of ISO 14065 are paving the way for the development of new verification and validation activities, and they are leading to important modifications for the performance of such activities in the environmental field.
The two standards are meant in this case to be used jointly even for activities already consolidated at market level, such as the case of the EU ETS accreditation.
The situation gets more complicated for the GHG verifications due to the recent publication of ISO 14064-3 standard, that requires a clear interpretation, for a consistent approach on the market.
But the application scenarios of ISO 17029 look definitely broader, with the chance to extent to new services of conformity assessment.
