The ISO/TC 207 Plenary Meeting in Seoul ended last Saturday.
Many interesting news emerged from the meeting, such as the start of the works for the development of a standard for validation and verification of the environmental component of sustainability reports (ISO 14016).
In terms of environmental communication it is to report the forthcoming publication of ISO 14027 devoted to the development of PCRs (Product Category Rules) and the progress of the works of the ISO 14026 on Footprint Communication, that will be soon available for the ballot from CD to DIS.
In the LCA field, it was registered the passing of the baton in the leadership of SC5 from Matthias Finkbeiner to Peter Saling (which will formally take place in late 2016) and the launch for the DIS Annex dedicated to specify how to develop footprint standards.
Great ferment on Climate Change that sees, in addition to the consolidation of adaptation activities, the upcoming launch of a ballot for a project on climate financing. In terms of mitigation it is going to happen the passage of ISO 14064-1 and ISO 14064-2 at DIS level, while ISO 14063-3 will shortly ask confirmation to extend its scope to the verification of CFP. CFP that records the transition from WD1 to WD2 of ISO 14067.
Confirmed, however, the scope extension to all the environmental components for the ISO 14065 that will have to interface with the ISO/CASCO of upcoming preparation, the ISO 17029.
