Risk of shipwreck for the Noah’s Ark of seeds

The world Ark of biodiversity seed did not took place on the Ararat mountain but in Spitsbergen, among the ice of the Svalbard Islands. Inside galleries that develop for hundreds meters inside the mountain at a constant temperature of -18°C, more than 1 million seeds are preserved with the aim of guaranteeing the survival of their genetic heritage, to the unfortunate eventuality of catastrophic events for humanity, such as a nuclear conflict or the collision of an asteroid. Built only 10 years ago to ensure the seed retention in complete autonomy, without the presence of man, the Global Seed Vault is now under surveillance 24 hours a day. The temperature in the area reached last year peak of 7°C above the average of the area, leading to the melting of the permafrost and subsequent flooding of the structure's entrance, where the water anyway has frozen again without damaging the seeds.
