China: absolute leader of photovoltaic

The axis of renewables is moving more and more towards Asia. China, in addition of producing 60% of panels worldwide, represents alone more than 40% of the global capacity growth of renewables. It has already reached its own 2020 targets of solar energy and is expected to reach the ones of wind energy by 2019. The EU maintains the second position in the rating of global capacity of renewables, but the projections for 2020 suggest the overtaking by the US and India. In this context, Commissioner Sefcovic initiative is particularly important to bring together strategic firms in Bruxelles to form a kind of Airbus-style consortium of storage batteries.
