Al via l’UN Climate Action Summit
The UN Climate Action Summit is scheduled for Monday 23 September, where UN Secretary-General António Guterres will call on world leaders to discuss a concrete and realistic plan aimed at fulfilling the commitments set out in the 2015 Paris Agreement.
Guterres has in fact stated that during the Summit he will invite only those world leaders who promote climate policies designed to limit global warming to 1.5 °C to speak.
The UN Climate Action Summit will be an opportunity for world leaders, entrepreneurs, NGOs, local authorities and activists to come together to take stock of each country’s efforts to tackle the climate crisis.
The conference will be preceded on Saturday 21 September by the UN Youth Climate Summit, which will feature Greta Thunberg, who arrived in New York by sailing boat, as a key participant.
