Guiness World Record and Paris Agreement: 66 million of plants in 12 hours.

The Paris Agreement begins to make room also in the pages of the Guinness World Record. In the state of Madhya Pradesh, 1.5 million volunteers managed to plant nearly 66 million plants from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The record for the previous year is then exceeded, when 50 million plants were planted in India in one day in the state of Itar-Pradesh. The interventions fall within the context of the country’s commitment within the Paris Agreement to replanish the 12% of their lands.

Other countries have also made concrete commitments in this direction. 10 African countries have pledged to reforest 31.7 million hectares.

In Australia, however, a team of engineers is developing a system that can even use drones to identify the best places to plant the plants and provide for their direct seeding. The goal is to plant 1 billion plants per year.
